This is my first foray into the wonderful world of blogs. I will ask common sense questions and talk about topics that stoke my ire and provide links to back up my accusations. I will never say anything that is not factually true. This is truly about doing the right thing and holding those who make statements accountable for what they say.
For my first entry into the Blog world, let's talk Gas.
Do any of you remember the following words of House Speaker Nancy Pelsosi?
"With skyrocketing gas prices, it is clear that the American people can no longer afford the Republican Rubber Stamp Congress and its failure to stand up to Republican big oil and gas company cronies. Americans this week are paying $2.91 a gallon on average for regular gasoline – 33 cents higher than last month, and double the price than when President Bush first came to office."
“With record gas prices, record CEO pay packages, and record oil company profits, Speaker Hastert and the Majority Congress continue to give the American people empty rhetoric rather than join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now."
“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.” This came directly from her own web page. Check it out.

Have any of the Main Stream Media called her on this?
So far all I have seen is the democrats bringing in the Oil company CEO's and accomplishing nothing, except letting Maxine Waters tell them she wants to uh..uh..Socialize them. We all know she meant Nationalize them. But the point is the Dems have been running Congress since early 07. What do we have to show for it? Over $4.00 a gallon gas prices and no end in sight. It cost me $70.00 to fill up my truck the other day. I got a notice from the bank that since my home value has declined my home equity line of credit is going down. We ware all hurting and we all know that drilling is not a quick fix and will take time, but it is a start. Do we really want to trust our oil future and gas prices on a volatile Middle East or a nut job like Hugo Chavez. Oil Company CEO's have told Congress that if they are not allowed to drill, prices will make $5.00 a gallon seem like nothing. Let them try it. Give it a shot. If they don't produce then take action. Its better then relying on the likes of the Middle East and Chavez.
